<p>
I bought this coin recently in a batch of Greek/Roman/Byzantine coins. It has a facing bust on the obverse and 2 figures on the reverse. I'm very curious as to its origin, but also suspicious because it has file marks all around the rim, which makes me think a mold line was removed. It's crackled all over as well and I have no clue as to what it's made from. I believe it may be a contemporary forgery of a Greek coin. It has no inscriptions, and I've had no luck IDing it. Any opinions? Also, I have seen a few Greek coins with similar filed edges and I wonder if this is a clear sign of a forgery or if filed edges have some other significance? Thanks for any opinions!<img src="http://i.imgur.com/edDdbvX.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/yOjByrB.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/vwoIyeD.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/5gfcIVz.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /> <img src="http://i.imgur.com/EkQmYPd.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" />
</p><p><br /></p>
