Going through pocket change the 99" stood out having the color of a old silver coin it didn't feel the same either weighing 5.5 it also has a extra wide rim slightly off center on the obverse, the ribbing is visible but almost smooth. It has light circulation wear but very crisp details & lettering. I know of the experimental planchets but those coins weighed over standard. So after all that rambling....could it be possible for there to be another experimental planchet type that made it into circulation??
99 inches!!! Wow!!! You wouldn't be married to Paul Bunyan, would you? J/K! Like the others said, we do need photos of both sides as well as the reeded edge. Chris
Two things jump to mind... Plated after minting by a 3rd party Silver proof set coin that escaped into circulation Weight will differentiate between the two
coin queen i have some quarters with those attributes as well? did you post pics? mine weigh 5.5 i mean sooo close. i set them aside. this is my first post.
Silver are 6.3 grams and the CuNi clad are 5.67g So anythkng near to 5.67 is plated, after minting, damaged
@Tabitha Moore no worries... You didn't hijack @Coin Queen 's post with completely irrelevant items, the question was completely reasonable and you didn't argue with the answer telling us you know better. Welcome... Asks away... A couple months down the road you will find yourselves jumping in to answer and realize how much you've learned...
