    Actually I HAVE tasted silver! If you hold a silver coin and a copper coin (old dime and cent) in a V shape with your fingers and place your tongue so that it touches both of them, you will get a sour taste from the simple battery formed between copper and silver. Radiation has a smell too, but that is another story.

    It would probably not be apreciated if I posted what I thought was good, but let me just suggest that the coin may not be the only object that needs close inspection.

    in my experiance all the silver nickels i found were a blackesh color from wear. even on my silver dimes it has some.

    but before we can prove anything, we need pics and the weight of the coin. :)

    When you do the taste test remember, if it taste like rice it would be a Chinese counterfeit and not worth more than the "silver" content. :rolleyes:
