To me, getting rooked for $6000 would be devastating. I have two young kids and am looking to buy the 'right' home. I invest what I can; usually most after my tax refund My girlfriend trusts me in these decisions, though she is still dubious about it. I didn't want her to see $500 went to a single auction recently so my Dad took the cash and I used his card. I expect that package this week, and I work all week, so she may intercept it anyway and see the receipt (or read this ) and I'll be sunk anyway (I invested quite a bit recently myself. At least for me. Somewhere around $1500 over the last couple months has definitely been the most for me in such a short period of time.) So a loss of $6k, and having to hide it from my family? Pretty sure they'd notice things missing around the house, like the tv, furniture, and a vehicle or two

That was my mistake.

If you read some of my previous posts, you will see I believe strongly in a person being able to ask not just me, but any respectable dealer or collector, the value of their items and be given the truth about it. Most people either accept my offer or take my advice to get another "counter offer" .......
