(Evidence: poor judgements and peculiar behaviors, etc.) The neighbors have been suspicious longer than I, but close family friends (same-age elders) are still doubtful or in denial. Most tellingly, this parent feels especially threatened by <i>random call solicitations for investments. </i>It's absolutely certain predatory scammers know the score here, it's not just ONE call per year! Folks obviously need to be more aware how prevalent this grifting becomes as a parent <i>becomes </i>elderly.</p><p> </p><p>Likewise, it's surprising that (middle-aged?) posters on CT are doubtful coin-shops knowingly grift from elderly women. (<i>Everyone else</i> knows they're ideal targets: <i>why would the the coin-racketeers be any different</i>???) Is the 'numismatic ripoff' thread about an older widow, also?
