I graduated in 1990...really? An antique? I'm not telling this to my 18 year old daughter lol as I will never hear the end of it. I live in a rural area in NY state and it's not uncommon here to still get bills from the 70s and 80s and nobody here gives it a second thought. I have silver certificates somebody paid me with when I worked at a local store a few years back.
Yeah, the best is when you hand them a half dollar and they ask you "Is this a dollar?" Fortunately the good and honest side of me always wins out and responds "No, it is a half a dollar".
From time to time, I used to bring a coin or two from an historical era that we were studying about and pass it around in junior high and high school history classes.
Where's that video of the Taco Bell drive through girl turning down a new 1oz gold coin for the crinkled one dollar frn. The guy ordered one taco! It's real and over on YouTube.
I'm going to pay for things with 2 and 3 cent pieces from now on if the bill ends in one of those denominations. THAT would be funny...
There is another one where he goes around and tries to sell a one ounce gold coin for $50. No one buys it. He even offers one lady the coin just for some Starbucks.
I don’t think he would have been happy if I were that cashier…I would accept it in a heartbeat.
GF, I would sale him a .99 taco for a 10¢ fractional note! 1oz gold coin? I will @@@@ a coconut, and pop for a Taco salad!
Oh, gosh! You have absolutely no idea how long a loud I laughed when I read this! ... My mother to a long walk from the kitchen to my bedroom upstairs just to see exactly what I was laughing at... She didn't really understand due to the fact she is not a coin or currency enthusiast. :too-funny: -Brian
x2-the both of you have me rolling now! Not to mention that the song "killing me softly" has been on an endless loop since you said that...
