Thank you. I hope to get some better equipment one of these days, however, I think the coins will always take precedence.

I assume these coins have a "mint mark" and you know the mark you are looking for. Surely it is to be had somewhere.

TRP or TRS. It is a matter of time.

Are they one in the same?

TR is the city. The P or S separates the primus or secundus workshops within that one city mint. Either would do for my purposes. Each mint had its own internal structure with one to 15 workshops with each having their own way to indicate this division on the coins.

WOW! 500 F/VF in one fell swoop is quite an accomplishment.

Ancient coins that attract me are the ones that reveal something about the culture of its origin. Such as those coins that show sexual activities. Those highly amuse me. Unfortunately, I don't have any of those yet.

I like those culturally based ones too. :D

I have thought about buying similar lots of 80-100 coins.

Those kind are VERY expensive & VERY rare. Most collectors dont own them ;)

@lonegunlawyer , hopefully not the uncleaned lots.

Constantius II or Gallus are known. Magnentius or Constans would be discoveries.

I will check. This group was put together looks like by a reseller, so each are listed with emperors name and history. I think there were 96 Constantius II in there. I will look tonight. I will look at Constans too, there was about 80 of those.

Yeah, don't give this redneck any money, huh? I don't even collect these things. My wife wanted to sell stuff on Ebay, so I was thinking I would go through this pile and grab anything interesting to me, like maybe campgates or interesting obverses, and let her sell the rest. But, I AM a hoarder.....

Whatever is in the lot,I would love to see a group shot just to see what gets sold as a bulk lot. I recall once seeing 100 Constantine I coins as a lot but they were 95% VOT X or 2 soldiers coins so I assume a dealer bought them for stock.

I will work on it. There are VOT and 2 soldier coins, but not exclusively at all. Actually, more campgates than Fel Temp, but all 4 types of Fel Temps are represented. I wish there were more earlier late romans like Licinius and Constantine, but for the cheap price I paid I cannot complain.
