Thank god for Cointalk, as i said in my intro. I am fairly new to collecting. I was a manufacturing manager for the last thirty years and ran a few good size factories, so i was always busy. 2 years ago i got sick and am now permanately disabled and home 24,7,365 with my lovely wife of 31 years. She like everyone else said i needed a hobbie and now i have found one. I live in a very small town that has a post office and one tavern. Before finding cointalk I drove everyone crazy talking about nothing but coins.

Now i find myself spending hours reading what everyone here has to say and soaking up a lot of knowledge. I read a couple of posts from people who got ripped off over thier years of collecting and it reminded me of two of my own experiences. The first was as a young boy I would go to the county fair in the summer and look at the coin collectors tables for something I could afford. one day a very shiny penny caught my eye and i spent my $5.00 of hard earned lawn mowing money and became the proud owner of a 1954 steel penny!!! Yeah right!!!

My second story was just a few weeks ago when my late night cruising of ebay afforded me to be the lucky owner of a 3 pc. bi-centennial proof set box and COA for only $9.00!!!! This was my fault though for bidding without reading the miniscual font that sort of clearly told me there was no coins included!!!

Thanks again for this great website where i can expand my knowledge and share my love of coins.:thumb:
