This Gold Medal award for the Pan-American Exposition is pretty cool. Even worn, the design is compelling. Z
Not sure how to post new thread. I have an error Connecticut state quarter and was wondering if anyone had ever seen one like this. If I face Washingtons head straight and I flip it 180 straight back the tree top is facing to the left. Every other Connecticut quarters tree top is towards the top. Sorry for the inappropriate section to post this.
Same design. It's the one that won the competition for the new quarter obverse in 1932, but the win was overruled.
Not sure if this was "runner up" or if Cremona actually won the competition and then lost out on having it incorporated as the quarter. Not saying that I LIKE this design, just filling in the blanks. Z
There are quite a few "So-Called Dollar" medals that have quite beautiful designs. This is one of my favorites. Z The 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition - Omaha Medal (HK-283)

Ah, yes, the "Washington Behind Bars" design. And depending on how they did the relief on that date, we could've had dateless Washington quarters!
