I'm Cannyn (Pronounced like the camera, Cannon but with a "Y") I do as much as I can to be in the world of Coins. I collect, deal and study. The majority of my collection is what I call "Eye Candy" in the sense that if I like it, I'll buy it... If I have the funds. If you look at my personal collection you'll see that my main collections are compromised of Lincoln Cents and Mercury dimes. The rest, all scrambled and jumbled US coins, so usually I just tell people up front I am a "Type" Collector. I am especially fond of odd denominations and pattern pieces, but my restricting wallet won't let me own many of either. I have found much fun in the art of the deal. I have found much joy in funding my own collection through dealing coins at small profits. Most of my collection has been funded by those means.
:hail:Hi, Glen, glad to meet you here in CoinTalk. I'm Eileen, I'm from Singapore and I collect mainly silver coins -- both bullion and proof -- from around the world. I have a few commemoratives, too, and some non-silver coinage as well. I'm interested in key dates. Thanks for the contest, Glen. :smile
Hi Glen. I am Craig Wilson, I live in St. George, Utah. I am 51 years old but still feel young. I love collecting coins. I started out collecting U.S. coins. but now my main focus is world coins (coins with insects), and then..... coins with stars, coins with hands, coins with small coins on the coin. and a large MISC. section of world coins. As I get older I am finding myself liking the coinage from the 18th and 19th centuries more and more. and I love/hoarding silver bullion lol.
wow this is really turning out great hearing all what you guys and girls collect is really nice to know, thanks to all so far and good luck in contest..this is fun..Glen

Hi Glen. First off, thanks for the contest! My name is Phil and I'm 48 years old, I live in the Tidewater area of Virginia. I started collecting about 10 years ago when I inherited a good chunk of my Grandfather's coin collection. My primary area of focus has mostly been classic US coins from the late 19th early 20th century. I've put together sets of Buffalo Nickels, Mercury Dimes, Standing Liberty Quarters, Morgan and Peace dollars among others. I also collect bullion coins, mostly silver like American Silver Eagles, Canadian Maple Leaf, Canadian Wildlife series. Lately I've started to collect ancient Roman coins. Mostly Roman Imperial coinage with images of the Emperors on them. I've really gotten a huge kick out of this aspect of the hobby. Nothing like holding a 2000 year old coin in your hands and wondering where it's been and who's held it before you.
Hi all, I am John and live in Canada. Since childhood i am collecting coins. I have good collection of silver and gold coins.
Hello All, My name is Dusty I live in East Tn. I am 31 years of age and have been collecting coins just for 3-4 years. Used to be really big into bullion coins. Have since sold off most of my bullion collection and have started focussing on Lincoln Cents. I really enjoy reading all the post on coin talk about Lincoln Cents. They are people here that have a wealth of knowledge that's for sure. Dusty
Hey Guys!!! Im from Port, Oregon. Im a preteen. I started collecting a bit after my dad found a mercury dime in change... he gave it to me. BIGGGGG MISTAKEEE. I remember searching the date and value but of course i knew nothing about mintmarks or condition. I dont remember what i searched up as it has been about 3 years but it still kills me to this day wondering what that year was and searching thousands of dollars in coins but not finding one mercury dime. I have started a mercury dime collection and found a 1916 dime but im not sure if there is a D mint mark. I enjoy collecting silver and gold coins! I tend to go overboard and ask everyone i know if they have a jar of coins, they might look at me strangely but i have found a small handful of silver and wheaties! My parents dont really think that coin collecting is good and all but i think one day I could strike it rich Just a hope. :thumb:
