Time to slow down, me thinks that they have a hair trigger....that shipping is NOT a deal. Just having fun with a newbie
Lol its ridiculous, one time I saw a slabbed 1916 D merc that went for only $5 then I looked $520 shipping how can sellers do that its like the opposite but the same with no loss or gain.
The shipping is worth more than the set lol. And it only costs $5 to send that Correct me if I am wrong but I think people make shipping so high because they don't get taxed/ebay fees on that? Is this correct?
The buyer gets taxed on shipping costs too. Depending on where they live. This seller also charges $3.95 to ship to a residential address. Insurance over $100 and I don't remember what else. Way too much extra added on costs.
Nope, eBay "fixed" that policy years ago. Not only are fees charged to the seller based on final value PLUS shipping costs, but sales tax is computed based on the total amount as well. As far as I can tell, that's a flat-out violation of the law in quite a few states. Of course, what state is going to complain if they get extra revenue?
Ebay's "fix" is why I stopped selling on there at that point. Penalizing everyone for a few crooked sellers. People like me and many others that charged accurate (or more often far too little) for shipping then had to pay a percentage of that shipping money received back to Ebay. Some fix right? The seller loses money on shipping and Ebay still gets a piece of it, on millions upon millions of transactions. Crooks.
No not really. The seller has set prices for what they think they need. I'm just making light of the buyer. Educational PSA if you will I've made a few bonehead mistakes myself
