The 1st 09 P Dime roll sold for $212.49, bought by an Army vet...Im still ecstatic. Imagine though if people knew...it would create mass hysteria with the banks

Well, I've sold a total of 17 2009 P dimes for a total take before fees of $371.84. I have one up for bid now closing Sunday with a current bid of 3.50, so my total take will exceed at least $375 (with my investment of $1.80).

I have a 2nd chance offer out, and have a total of 3 more dimes (2 if the 2nd chance sells). It has been quite a run.

Congrats Manny on you sale of the roll. You are going to make my figures look paltry, but I'm thrilled with this whole thing and only wish you huge success. There are, however, a BUNCH of 2009 dimes out there now all BU (I'm the only one who have sold circulated ones as far as I know). There were 13 different dimes earlier today from several different sellers.

Manny, PM me (or put it here, I don't care) who you contacted at CoinWorld. That would be cool to be written up...

Im thrilled as well, I had to send a second chance offer to the next highest bidder so all in all my take so far between selling and current auctions is $591.58

Im praying that those who bought rolls dont open them to sell in singles other wise you will see a massive amount out there, either way its allright and I think they will still sell well.

Truthfully Bob I cannot remember who it was I spoke to, being in Germany sometimes the connection isnt too good. I actually called these 2 numbers 1-800-253-4555 and 1-800-572-6885. I actually spoke to a representative first before being transferred to one of the people in charge of articles. I want to say it is Paul A. Gilkes who I spoke to but Im not sure.

    Hope this helps

Well one of the buyers of my rolls already posted singles at a Buy it Now of $14.99 and posted it with a stock picture. I beat her to the punch and did my BIN's for $12.95. It works against me somewhat but I have to beat her at it. She is not gonna be a happy camper. I think eventually as more come out these will start selling in the $5 range which is not too bad

Coin collector and Mint News Blog reader Emmanuel Rodriguez made the lucky find. After hearing about the low mintages for this year's nickels and dimes, he contacted a bank to ask whether they had any 2009 coins. As luck would have it, the bank had 2009 nickels and dimes, but would only sell them in complete $500 or $200 bags of pre-rolled coins. At the time of purchase, he was still unsure about whether the rolls would contain 2009 coins, but examination revealed solid 2009 rolls. The location of the bank was within a US Territory.

Hey Mister...got a nickel or a thin dime for a cup of joe?

Manny your bidding against yourself. Just lower them by .10 or.25 cents, the buyers will take the same thing for ten cents less than the competition. You're cutting into your own profits by making such a large cut. Plus she will run out in time, and you will have set a lower price for your coins, after she runs out.

This is insane!!! Good to all of you who have profited from this insaneness. I just absolutely refuse to pay these prices. We will have to wait to see what happens in 2010, but I think that there will be many disappointed people out there who find that they paid ridiculous prices and then next year find that they could buy the same item for a fraction of the price.

By fraction of the price, you mean, FACE VALUE! :)
    Just more worthless junk...
Close to 100 million minted of these dimes, and people opening their wallets, like crazy!

    Imagine this . . .

After the US mint minted the 2009 Nickels and Dimes, they decided that there were too many nickels and dimes already in circulation, and they decided that they would not disperse any 2009's, and melt them down for next year . . . but, somehow or other, 2 boxes of each accidently were sent out to surrounding islands. A few traveled back into the states, but that was all that was ever released.

We would be saying, huh, I remember when there were a couple of guys that sold some of those for around $10 each.

Well . . . probably not, but strange things have happened before.

No, people here would be saying...
"Remember when T$ kept bashing the 09 coins?" LOL!!! Look at them now! LOL
But if that happened, I'd look like a fool, wouldn't I...
Sticking with gut... 09 coinage will be just like everything else soon...
Strike the iron while it is hot...

Is it to early to nominate SirCharlie for most creative post of the year?

That strategy didn't work, she just dropped her price to your price. What's next, giving them away? Look, the open auctions are selling for more than you two guys BIN's. Back off the BIN, let her sell out. Do one coin auctions. Prices go back up, unless you'd like to cut your price again, which she'll match.

I agree, I think you ought to go back up to 14.95. Move your price, contact her and let them be the same....you both sell them, you keep the prices higher, and when she runs out, you keep selling.

Umm you know it doesn't really matter how they pay you can get screwed on pay pal too!

Thats what I just did. Either way she can either choose to go back up and keep prices higher or she can keep them which will result in profit loss in the future.

Now for nickels Ill just gladly do 1 day auctions for singles which unless of course someone decides to flood the market at once then they will command high prices. Let's just say rolls are not on my agenda, not yet at least

Just to give people a run down how crazy this has been the nickel auction now has

    130 Watchers
    18 Bids
    1904 Views

The Nickel and dime Set has now:

    67 Watchers
    26 Bids
    372 Views

Just a quick update...the nickel and dime set has sold for $81 with another 2 nickel auctions going for $71 and $86 respectively.

Can somebody please wake me up from this dream, this is just unbelievable

    You got so lucky....
This dream will end, once more people find them
If you are the only one who has them, then it is good for you, but try to space out your auctions, to make it so, these looks very, very rare, when they are not
