No, the price is going down because others are selling, too. FWIW, I think a series of 1-day auctions is the way to go on this. (In most 3-day auctions, almost nobody bids till the 3rd day anyway -- but you can triple your throughput with 3 1-day'ers)

Wow, there is about 10 dimes up right now.....

It was fun while it lasted.....

These will probably close below $10.

You will continue to get 20-40 times face though :)
    (Maybe even a little more!)
$5 for a dime, ain't that bad, when you pay FACE VALUE to sell it

Believe me, I'm not complaining....I just turned a $1.10 investment into over $300 (gross).

And if I can still get that kind of profit, I'll sell several more!

2 thumbs up!!!! There is someone selling a roll right now. On a side note Im getting emails from scottwhited.

Also Ive gotten several messages stating people have found them in IN, how accurate that is I dont know. Right now Ill keep posting dimes and nickels. I may even be inclined to sell a roll since someone started already

I can't believe that scottwhited is emailing you. Since he stiffed me for $49, he ought not to be able to bid on other things.....I thought it was a "contract."

    Don't let him bid....

Manny, YES! If someone else has a roll up, you ought to put one up!.

I think I may have overlooked Tmoney's post but in any case...thank you, because sometimes it takes someone else to show you the way. That scottwhited guy is very rude and he will not be bidding on any of my auctions.

Im catching heat now from people in a different forum because the % Im giving to VFW is not high enough and that Im somehow using the VFW thing for personal gain. I mean since when does donating to a charity be considered personal gain. I'm hoping there is still demand for single coins but since there is a roll Im not sure how good the demand will be for singles.

I think the demand for rolls is semi-independent of the demand for singles.

It does mean though that there will be more for auction out there and prices will decrease but on the other hand some people may not be willing to shell out a lot of money for a roll and decide to get a single coin to fill their albums. OTOH whoever buys the rolls may just want them to hoard it as opposed to opening it and selling singles. There is currently just over 10 auctions for the dimes so the demand I think will be there for a long while. I mean look at the Formative rolls on Ebay...theyre regularly selling for 10x face, and there are tons of them on Ebay. At the very minimum, comparing pennies to dimes they should sell for $50/ roll right now at the very minimum.

One of my 1 day auction dimes is over $18 right now so I think the demand will be there for a good while. Time is everything I just hope that if someone gets a lot of rolls that they dont suddenly dump them on the market because that will essentially kill it for the rest of us.

I can't wait to see what your roll goes for later today.

I sold 3 more on 2nd chance offers since so many are coming out and I'm down to about 6 more dimes is all....

Amazing . . . and I can't get anybody to even look at his poor cousing, the 2009-S Proof Roosie . . .

But still -- good for you! It's nice to hear "good luck and fortuitous timing" stories amongst the folks here

Michael on MintNewsBlog posted about my nickel, pretty cool and it would be even cooler if Coin World does the article on it as well.

I just posted a comment right after yours. I hope you liked my question at the end, intended to create more of a panic for you and your nickels.

Your first nickel is up to $83+ right now. UNREAL.

It would be VERY COOL if CoinWorld did an article on the first Dime and the first Nickel...........

    :D

Contact Coin World with your info and how you came about your nickels. I spoke to one of the editors a couple of days ago and they are planning to write an article on it but they werent too sure because when I contacted them it was too close to this weeks issue.

Thanks Bob...the more panic the better ;)

The current stats are the following

    110 Watchers
    17 Bids
    1,615 views

    $83.51

Too bad Jay Leno did his last show. He used to do a bit where he would ask the audience whether they thought various odd items on Ebay were sold or not. I'm sure they would have included these items if we had let them know. The average person doesn't know anything about the hysteria surrounding this year's coins. Imagine showing the audience a common nickel, them shouting "Not Sold" in unison, and then revealing that it sold for more than $85 !!!
