Really interesting--it's what you would expect to see in a DDR of that area.
Just out of curiosity...what is the mintmark?

    Way cool!

John Wexler has 3 DDRs listed for Homestead, but all related to the windows themselves. seems that area is going to Be a hotspot.

is there a chance that this could turn out to a major variety like the extra leaf on the Wisconsin?

My personal opinion is no - believe it or not, there have been hundreds of Doubled Dies since the State Quarters came out, many are quite minor.

Click on the 3 lists for the quarters
    State 25¢ Doubled Dies
    D.C. & Territorial 25¢ Doubled Dies
America The Beautiful 25¢ Doubled Dies

Wisconsin is a bit different as it isn't a true doubled die like yours and the many others, more a suspected man-made creation with an unknown tool.

I think it might have been struck threw some hard grease that fell out the handle if you look where I have the red arrow thats where i believe it might of fell out of. 2015_03_31_09_44_14.jpg

Send it in to John Wexler. I'm positive that he'll list it as WDDR-004.

I think that if this were the case, then it would not appear to pass under the pane.

A coin struck through grease/dirt would also leave an impression, rather than a raised design detail.

True but that does not appear to be an impression. It appears to be raised to me as indicated by the shadows on the raised devices.

That's what I'm saying--it's clearly transferred by the die onto the coin.
