    Howdy CoinLover..

The definition of a Mule is as follows:

A mule is a note that has a micro size check number on one side and a macro size number on the other side...
Micro's measure from 0.6mm high compared to the macro numbers of 1mm high!

    There ya have it..

What about a low plate number on the back (like 2) or a high one (like 1452)? Would either of those carry a premium, if that was the only distinguishing characteristic?

Those mule numbers... I don't think I have the time or the eyes for that!

The tiny plate number in the lower right of both the face and back are called the plate check numbers for the cross reference to the master plate number. These numbers are not related to each other in way.
Some collectors try to assemble collection of matching plate numbers..that is very difficult at best!

    Hope that helps...

Wow, a lot of different numbers in bill collecting to look for!

Thanks for the help, guys! A year ago, I thought the only bills to collect were silver certs!
