I wasn't saying they weren't counterfeits, not at all. What I was trying to point out was a problem with your definition, specifically #1. The Russian counterfeit ducats, and any other coins of a similar nature, are/were absolutely counterfeits, but they were specifically produced by a government to be used in commerce so your definition for #1 doesn't work.
I would love for you to elaborate, and I promise you won't hurt my feelings. Do you just find them dumb/corny? Unprofessional? Or something else? (I admit it is meant to be a bit humorous and not 100% serious.) ~Joe C.
Jim, could you post a paragraph or several sentences using those words so we can view them in context? From the dictionary, Collectorate: noun - (in some South Asian countries) a district under the jurisdiction of a collector. See collector (sense 3).
Medalorate, Tokenorate, Currencorate, Euphemorate, Lexiconumisorate, etc. That last one is People who Collect Words related to Numismatics. Hey, this is FUN. So far, we've got a 2 page thread out of it.
Used in a sentence : As a Lexiconumisorate , I have a folder full of words and terms related to my hobby, and the study, of Numismatics, that I have collected !
A fair question. But let's not forget Mike that humor is permitted - even in serious books. And in some cases, it might even be recommended
