I need your help in identifying this coin further. The coin is made of copper, and is close to the size of a US Quarter and thinner than a US Penny. The closes I can come to identifying this coin is the Maryland (Lord Baltimore) Coinage.???? I believe everything matches up good with the exception of two things. On the obverse just under the head is a Small Five Point Star not seen on the known Maryland Coinage. On the reverse the Calvert Coat of Arms Shield (not the crown) appears to be a little different even though it’s hard to see. I could be wrong there though. The crown matches up good in all the books I have. It’s hard to see in the pics but, it does appear to have a Cross no top of the Crown. Possibly an unknown variant of the Baltimore Coinage, wouldn’t that be nice. I say possible Lord Baltimore Coin because, the coin does have very early family ties to Maryland and has always been in the family and now it’s public knowledge. I may be able to take better pics, if you need them just ask and I’ll see what I can do. Please, send me in the right direction in finding more information out on this coin books, contacts, ect.. Any and All in-put will be greatly appreciated. I am stumped. Thanks in advance for your help. Sincerely, Tom
