I have two dimes with die gouges?

I can tell it's not a die chip. But in the nose of these two. And one on cheek in the 1996 p dime.

Seems like a scratch to me. Wait for replies from other members.

 

I know it's not a scratch. It's a raised line on both dimes. Exact same place.

 

If it's a scratch on the die then it would be raised.
So I'm down to die scratch or internal die break (which would be unusual).

I find these die cracks interesting and usually save them, but really they are so common on dimes as to have no additional value. Yours are particularly interesting in that they seem to show two different stages of the same crack. Thanks for sharing.

 

Looks like die cracks to me Shrews. A nice find. Tuck those away as they are keepers.
