I have this 1996 p nickel has something wrong on the reverse

    Nickels are not plated.. Copper Plated Zinc Cents are plated..
    Nickels don't have a clad layer with a Copper Core as Dimes and Quarters do

    I will say a worn die strike issue.

    I would agree with @paddyman98 . Most people do not know dies get damages as they strike coins. This is why the mint will frequently take dies off the presses and polish them to clean them up. This is the source of worn dies, die lines, etc. It looks like this nickel was struck right before a mint worker would have removed the die to polish it.
