I think I might have seen you buy that coin. I was browsing cases and someone was dealing with a 16-D dime with an ANA cert.

So are you going to send her in to be slabbed @C-B-D ?

Oh heck no. She's perfect as she sits. Much more collectible as a photo cert than in some drab PCGS holder.

There are times when you just gotta accept that this is as good as it gets. :)

I agree 100% leave it be as is...... anyone with a good eye can just look and see what this coin is without a approval of a TPG

Wish it'd come to my table . . . Downright rare coin in that grade!

    Congrats.

The 1916-D is available in all grades, up to AU. All one needs is money to obtain an example. Nothing at all rare about it.

Wow. A solid 40, dripping eye appeal.

If there is some luster hiding in the protected areas, that may even make 45.

The obverse has touches of luster. Just a touch, but it is there. Love this coin.

Way to set the par for the rest of the year. That one will be hard to match or exceed.

    Sensational coin and holder!

That's a great looking dime. Just terrific. and the old grading certificate adds a lot of interest.

Perfect! As if I were in the market for a 16 D that would be my target, far from the reality of my pocket....at present.
    Nice coin for sure.

A perfect LordMarcovan CircCam. Very nice. I'm on the 40 side too, but more attractive than most 45s.

Nice coin, nice story, bought in 1979, graded in 1987. I am kind of wondering why the subjective attributes were not given. Maybe because it wasn't Mint State?
