Hello I am very pleased to announce my new find which is very rare I would like to ask all coin doctors what there thoughts where on a grade I will be summiting to pcgs first thin in the morning. But please share your thoughts on this rare veriety .thanks to all h
Save your money. Agree with everything said and shown above. If you like the coin put it in a 2x2 coin flip and save it. It's not the rare one.
I'm not an expert on error coins but I do not it's not WDDO-001 and it doesn't look like WDDO-002. From your photos it looks like there could possibly be split serifs on the 969 on the date. Or this may be due to the lighting or mechanical doubling. If it were my coin, I'd contact John A. Wexler. His email address is jwex@comcast.net. Or you could email Fred Weinberg at Fred@FredWeinberg.com. The following site lists 3 DDO's: http://www.coppercoins.com/diesearch.php Fred is also a member of Coin Talk. @Fred Weinberg
I think it’s just a normal cent. A clearer shot of the date would help. Also, reduce the glare if possible. Take pictures that capture the same views as provided by Coppercoins. Markers will be key to IDing your coin.
In the first series of photos, it does appear to be a MAD error. Possible off center, but I don't think you posted a picture of the reverse to confirm that. However, use the link provided by Thomas to review the 3 known DDOs for the date/mm. Review the details for each and try to confirm the attribution markers that are provided. It's pretty clearly not 1969S-1DO-001 (the big one). Check the second 9 in the date on your coin to see if there's a faint image of a 9 at 2 o'clock (1969S-1DO-002). If nothing, check the first 9 in the date at 2 o'clock (1969S-1DO-003). If nothing, then your coin is a slightly misaligned 1969 S LMC in XF condition. But if you find evidence of doubling, confirm your coin with the other established diagnostic markers and let us know what you have. Keep die state in mind (yours appear to be EDS or early MDS). Good luck!
You know what @Erik Pierce, You're right, it's not normal. You hit the jackpot. I'm not sure what I was missing last night. Must have been lack of sleep. Get that sucker sent in right way. Be sure that get the truview photos, the variety attribution, and be sure to insure it for it's value. Looking forward to seeing it when it comes back.
