[QUOTE="Sam Stone, post: 4097068, member: 110020"]I'm afraid I'm not as familiar with the various forum "offshoots" as I should be? The deal is, in 2012 (maybe 2013-even doctors couldn't pin it down) God needed to reel my ego back a bit and I had some odd type of stroke. I have always been blessed with fantastic health and mental acuity, but what changed is my ability to learn, to properly assimilate information. I have days when I can discuss heavy physics, but literally can't write or read an entire sentence without confusion taking over. We can't find the trigger and even on my best days I learn new things on par with a kindergarten student's ability. My knowledge doesn't change, once I learn, it sticks, but it can take me days to learn people's names. This has been a horrifying time for my family and myself because I've subsequently had three very serious injuries and we just don't know if they were preventable before I got sick. The worst part is going from an arrogant overachiever to not being able to provide for my family and still having total awareness that they struggle every day.

I didn't intend to take so much of your time, but right now I can think. I won't know until day after tomorrow if I will be coherent tomorrow. My son received a living inheritance (his grandfather wanted to give it to him while he was still alive and healthy), but my son is too busy helping mom pay our bills and going to college. So I'm trying to learn numismatics and hopefully my father in law will never know the difference.

This is a great group here with great people, and I'm pretty sure this won't be my last mistake.
