Right now the Seattle PO is the one I think is the worst. Evidently Seattle is one of those cities that puts directional words after the name of the street, and doesn't have a directional in front of the city. I mailed a letter to an address and instead of putting the directional "East" on the second line after the word Avenue, I put it on the 3rd line in front of the word "Seattle". I used the correct zip code. Because those fools couldn't figure out that since there wasn't an East Seattle in that zip, and there wasn't an east behind the street type, that it had to be returned to me as undeliverable since there is no such address. I got it back and looking at the zip code, for the house number and street name, there is no other directional after the street type than "east", so that couldn't have been confusing them. Also, there is no "east Seattle" in that zip, but neither is there a North, South, or West Seattle. So again, that should not have confused them. It took 10 days to get there and back, basically.

The only thing I could conclude is some low-life postal worker decided to mess around with someone who didn't use the "correct" directional in the "correct" place.

A shame, because I sent that letter late, and it had a deadline. The deadline has long since passed, and when I got it back I immediately sent it in a priority large envelope.... the only difference is I put a person's name on the top line (instead of just using the name of the event) and I used the word 'East' after the street type and just "Seattle" as the city. I am really hoping it gets there, because if it doesn't in the next day or so, I'm afraid an entry I made for something will be cancelled. This also cost me about 6.00 to get it sent the second time.

I used to send letters to places and use directions.... like "corner of first and ash" (to a bank) or leave out the zip code. They always got there. And get ones addressed similarly (like to my military address, but not using the correct format) and they get delivered. This one gets bounced back and it's ridiculous. The post office used to be worth using.

Seattle Postal People are getting no love from me now.
