i have a ? about weight tolerance's on U.S Medal's

    I got one of the 2.5 oz U.S Air force Medal's and I weighed out of the plastic case and it weighs in @ 2.800 oz would this be an over-weight coin error? what's the weight tolerance if any for medal's

    You sure your scale is calibrated? and pictures would help.

    can you weigh it in grams????? the scale is weighing by 10s of an oz here.



    No just kidding :) I got jokes too!

    I'm fairly certain the 2.5oz. weight is troy oz, and you scale is doing oz.
    2.5 troy oz is 2.742857 oz. and then your scale is likely rounding up on 10ths.

    if you can weigh it by grams it should be 77.759 grams

    Yep, and 79.4 grams is right about 2.5 oz troy. (2.55)
