I have a 1993 d steel penny

    I have a 93 d steel penny it will stick to a magnet what is this coin worth

    Probably a plated cent.

    It sticks to the magnet though it's Steel it's not zinc

    You get what you pay for...my guess for free. Now, tell me how a steel cent was made in 1993, in Denver.

    I don't know how it could be real. if you could get pictures maybe we could identify it.

    A photo plus a weight in grams is needed. If indeed steel it would likely be a Mint employee contrivance.

    If it is a real 1993 D cent it should weigh 2.5 grams.

    You know I always thought it was one of those ones that had the copper coating wore off it but I freaked out when it's stuck to the magnet last night I hope it's worth something

    Before you get too excited, plated cents often stick to a magnet because nickel is used in the plating.

    I'll post up the pictures in an hour or two I tried Googling it and didn't get any answers so I figured that asked some people in this form I'll get the pictures as soon as I can and I appreciate any input I have no idea I'm just curious I'm sorry I don't have the picture now I will soon
