I have a 1943 D copper penny

    The weight is far off, which leads me to believe it’s a fake. A good fake, but still a fake.

    Can you go to a jewelry store, and have the metals analyzed without damaging the coin? When it comes back and it's not 95% copper and 5% tin/and zinc, as well as being over weight, you don't have to worry about it any more. It doesn't even look like a 75 year old copper cent.

    This is unquestionably a fake. The finish on the reverse is blotchy and unnatural and is all i need. Pretty sure the OP knew this already. Why would you come on cointalk and say "i don't know what to do with it?"

    I would have done the same thing if I got a coin like that because you never know. Especially if you are a beginner and you don't know a lot about coins.

    It appears to be coated in copper after the fact because the details on this coin is too perfect! If indeed it's real when you send it In to ncg- pcgs- or wherever then you will be a millionaire as it will go down as the best 43D copper that the world has ever seen /: obverse @ a posšble 65+ Lmao! ~ Hey anything is possible But nearing on 80 years of people searching for this particular most sought after error besides it's nemesis 44’ steel is amazing that it surfaces now and looking like you busted out a original BU roll from then, says to me that you need to play the lottery cause you just got hit by the same lighting bolt twice
