Since you seem so sure.. I WILL ASK THE FOLLOWING; IN MY PHOTO'S, DO YOU SEE BUSINESS STRIKE OR DDO?

Let's see if you're CAPABLE of deciphering the difference between the 2.
Note; That if you disagree with my "claim" say "DDO" you need to present "data" to show it's not DDO in support of your claim... Remember, DDO is "doubled die obverse" it means a variety of devices in "error" with doubling's on obverse side of device. Use this to help your examination of my coin, because according to your claims I don't think you even know the difference between one or the other..

Notice the bold part of the above quote... that, sir, is all the proof one needs to reasonably question your true understanding of the matter.

First, I have no "majority"... no one is following my lead, nor am I following theirs. Second, if you're going to quote me ("you should see"), at least have the decency quote what I actually said.

Now, as for this proof you demand, please tell me exactly what you want because "common sense" dictates the earlier provided photos should be more than enough to convince Stevie Wonder. To put it simply, any doubling on your cost must EXACTLY MATCH that of the known genuine variety. Close, similar, maybe, nothing like it, imaginary, a nasty case of pareidolia, blah, blah, blah simply doesn't cut it. If this is too hard to grasp, perhaps take a cent, somehow grind off part of a letter (the O in ONE as an example) and impress it into a handful of play dough, not once but twice, the first right next to the second. Now notice how both impressions are exactly the same; this is, in a very basic way, how coins (be it a business strike or doubled die - don't argue nonsense) are formed. Do you follow me here?

Now, if you need, I'll be happy to post another photo of the known variety for you to compare, but is it really necessary? Something tells me you already know better...

As per to my "claim" I proposed 1 of many "data" I have on file as of "truth" to my claims and a COUNTER to the stated accusation's by some of you ALL, claims of un-researched subject's before presentation, posting's I've made with out examine, blah blah blah, I don't know what Im saying not a clue, I only have 1 1958 P I'm dreaming in fantasy land, YOU ARE SERIOUSLY WRONG, AND YOU WONDER WHY DISAGREE? MY GOODNESS! TO AGREE WITH YOU LOT, IS TO SAY THE PHOTO, IM ABOUT TO POST FOR YOU ALL TO SEE.... NEVER TOOK PLACE, IT DON'T EXIST, THAT 10 MINUTES AGO I NEVER PULLED OUT MY NIKON CAMERA AND TAKEN THE PHOTO THAT'S POSTING NOW ON THIS TREAD YOU ALL SEE...? Ridiculous, and FYI I have over 100+ 1958's cent in my collection most of them are 1958 D'S, unfortunately but that doesn't excuse the accusation's made and the fact remains.

Oh, lord.... now we're going to argue about how many 58 cents you have when NO ONE, other than perhaps the voices in your head, said a word about them or even remotely cares. If we're going to do the stupid dance, you need to stop stepping on my toes.

Also, please stop with all the unnecessary apostrophes.... it's already hard enough to figure out what you're trying to say, and the double whammy is giving me a headache.

    What BooksB4Coins said . . . DITTO.

All states of the 1969 S; normal, machine strike doubled and DDO were struck by the US Mint as Business Strikes.
The Mint cuts many dies of the same years product so that as one wares out for any reason they have another die to mount on the coin press and continue the production order with little delay. When those separate but supposedly identical dies are cut, occasionally the die or master get inadvertently rotated during the cutting process, which is how the DDO doubling gets created, in error.
Your examples are ALL doublings that were created, NOT on the die face BEFORE striking the cent planchets, but instead the mounted dies, which strike a few thousand blank cent planchets per minute are moving so fast as the blanks are passing between these dies that some blanks SLIDE during their getting struck and your examples are the result. There is little chance that if messure accurately that even the 2 you have are IDENTICAL.
DDOs ARE as DIES go IDENTICAL

You are going to feel Really FOOLISH when you find what IGNORANCE you spew.

I've uploaded the ONLY page in the CherryPicker's Guide that displays the ONLY example of the 1969 S DDO which is ACCEPTED as a TRUE DDO by the numismatic world. This page has a bottom entry that describes your Strike Doubled coins as NOT DDOs.

It seems you all have this thought that I am limited to the "hobby" FYI, I promise you I am not "LIMITED" it's only your illusion just because I ENTER this forum LATE Im new it sure ain't the date I started collecting. To say that I have done NO research before presentation is crazy talk of an illusionist. Totally, makes no sense at all when having ALL THE NECESSITY'S TO DO FULL EXAMINATION ON ANY VARIETY TYPE "ERROR" DEVICE from books and magnification, microscopic magnification and scale's, you continue to utter non-sense on one's behalf and you WONDER about my response? You are A MAN IN NEED OF HELP, SO AS THE REST WHO AGREE ON YOUR BEHALF.

Stop the attacks. Some offensive posts got moved, and anybody who wants to ignore other members can easily do it - that is what the "Ignore" feature is for.

I'm still waiting for images from the OP that prove something. Small out of focus images are worthless. It's clear we will never see any good images from the OP. That would end the thread. What fun would that be?

Ok so I read through this, and here's what I think. The OP thought he had something and wants everyone to agree with him. But when he's told he's wrong he's confused because he sees doubled features and thinks it's a double die. He stated that no one has provide any evidence so here's my shot at it. Below is a photo of a coin I own, before I say anything else, think to yourself, is this a doubled die?
    image.jpg
To the untrained eye, this may seem like a doubled die, you can clearly see the numbers twice. However this in fact is machine doubling. This from what I can tell is a more server example then yours, and yet it's not a doubled die. The easiest way to prove it is machine doubling is by the fact that the second date is lower then the first. If it was a true doubled die it would be the same high. I hope this helps. Also please go easy on the other posters, the simply were trying to help but you went out of control.

I hope you all understand... I post my "images" not for "YOUR" approval in confirming it's genuineness. I am not concern about it's genuineness if you are wondering that "time" has come to pass already... EVER since, I got the Nikon D3100 DSL'R digital cam, I got the confirmation I needed.

See below "images" these old shots taken before I GOT my D3100, with the Nikon110 coolpix digital. It's a good camera will do for KEY DATES and may do for some "ERROR" type device. I wouldn't recommend for DD variety type devices, lacks clarity. Just my "HUMBLE OPINION" :)

VERY NICE! I APPRECIATE THE POST, BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW I'VE LONGED PASS THAT PHASE, THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOUBLE STRIKE, MECHANICAL DOUBLING FROM DOUBLED DIE... I CAN DECIPHER... TO SUPPORT MY CLAIM I POST "IMAGE" BELOW.

ONLY DIFFERENCE REALLY, IF I AM CORRECT IS CAMERA QUALITY. THANK YOU FOR COMMENTING AND IN A CIVIL MANNER.

THIS WAS A LONG TIME AGO EVEN "THEN" I KNEW THE DEVICE WAS OF DOUBLE STRIKING AND NOT DD. I CAN TELL BY THE THICKNESS AND WEAK STRIKING, THE SERIFS, AND THERE WERE NO NOTCHES. IT DOESNT TAKE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DD AND MD BUT I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON ONE'S ABILITY. IM NOT SAYING I HAVE A 100% ACCURACY RATE IN ID'N DOUBLED DIE BUT IT IS A FACT THAT I AM NOT IGNORANT TO THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO.

THAT'S THE DUMBEST IDEA EVER! WHY WOULD I DO THAT I HAVE DOZEN'S OF DD'S RIGHT HERE NEXT TO ME. YOU REALLY ARE UNINTELLIGENT HAVE YOU EVEN CONSIDER HOW MANY DOUBLED DIES ARE OUT THERE IN CIRCULATION? GO ON WEXLER'S AND CLICK ON DOUBLED DIE LISTINGS AND SEE HOW MANY ARE LISTED. YOU MAKE THE RECOMMENDATION I SHOULD GO "BUY" A GRADED DD IM SO SORRY I HAVE TO DECLINE TO THE REQUEST BECAUSE 2 REASON; 1 ONLY STUPID PPL LIKE SAY... "YOU" WOULD ACTUALLY BUY A 1980 DD DEVICE. 2 IT COST TO MUCH MONEY FOR THE ONE I WANT BUT I HAVE AN IDEA SINCE YOU A MILLIONAIRE :) WHY DON'T YOU BUY ONE FOR ME. FROM READING YOUR COMMENT I CAN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THE CONFIDENCE YOU HAVE WHEN YOU SAY "BUY" SO CASUALLY YOU MUST BE A MAN WITH LOT'S OF MONEY.

INSISTING SOME ONE YOU KNOW NOTHING OF TO GO AND BUY THINGS, YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FINANCE TO COVER WHAT YOU INSISTED, IF THE PERSON YOU INSIST DOESN'T HAVE THE MEANS AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO SO WITHOUT HESITATION, ON THE ACCOUNT OF MONEY. IF YOU CAN'T DO THIS HOW DARE YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO MAKE SUCH REQUEST. I CAN'T AFFORD A DD ATM AND IM BETTING THAT YOU CANNOT AFFORD THE DD FOR ME EITHER. WE WILL LOOK LIKE 2 IDIOTS WOULDN'T WE IF THIS WAS AN ACTUAL EVENT. SO, TO MAKE A POINT YOU ARE TOO "POOR" FOR SOMEONE TO BE MAKING SUCH REQUEST IT'S BEYOND YOUR STATUS, PLEASE STOP FOR YOUR SAKE YOU DON'T HAVE THE MEANS AND YOUR EMBARRASSING YOURSELF TO THOSE WHO KNOWS LIKE HOW I NOW KNOW. :)

Long time ago?? It was, in fact, just a few short days ago you injected this nonsense into that woman's thread insisting this very same coin was, in fact, the big one...

    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/this-is-one-strange-coin.270857/#post-2283362

Again, please stop with this nonsense!

Oh, and the camera used isn't the problem here... every photo you've thus far posted, while not the best, has been of sufficient quality.
