...the silver flecks off one of my Peace Dollars revealing the shiny brass beneath.
    I really hate that.

Probably won't get a straight grade on it now.
    It is 'Details' for sure.

You should put your Peace dollars with my double eagles. My five year old is intent on getting the chocolate that he knows is hiding under the gold exterior.

    LakeEffect,
Should I scrape and prime the surface first?
I want to make sure the silver stays on this time.

Just use a wire brush, it's faster.

I always do. Finish up with a 4000 grit wet-sanding to restore that original mint luster.

Well, use a hand brush, my gosh it's not like I suggested using a drill brush.

That's not brass, it's solid 22kt. You got one of those legitimate Nigerian Prince people and they mean you well :)

    Got pictures ?

One reason I started researching fake Peace Dollars was so that I can (hopefully) recognize them just by pictures. So I'm curious on the fake one(s) that you have and if they have the fake identifiers that I'm aware of.

on another note, copper prices are rallying ...

    V. Kurt Bellman Yes, I'm blunt! Get over your "feeeeelings".

You guys that have previously set up your digital photography "studios" for coins have ABSOUTELY ZERO clue how much of a pain in the cajones setting up to photograph coins and/or slabs is, do you? There is ALMOST nothing poorer on the enjoyment gained for time and effort wasted ratio that I can imagine right now. It really is a severe pain to do it, you know? A HUGE waste of resources.

I'd rather install and configure new backup software than spend time photographing coins. HOW DO YOU GUYS TOLERATE IT??? And I just got a new low-power microscope to make it easier too. It's STILL one of the least enjoyable things about coins, AFAIAC.

You should take more selfies with your microscope and post them to your Twitter account. :)

Also, what's "ABSOUTELY" ?? ;) is that like a Pennsylvanian accent.

I appreciate you taking time off of your busy schedule of stomping kittens with golf cleats in order to chime in here and ruin my thread.

Once I take a stupid picture, it STILL isn't ready for posting. It needs to be resized, rebalanced, recontrasted, redensitied. What an utter PITA.
