Nice photos detecto, what are you using to photograph? Also this is something I've always wondered, how do y'all cut them out round like that so no part of the slab shows?
I'm just using a cheap nikon point and shoot. Proper lighting and white balancing is 75% of how photos turn out. I use Google Picasa to do the straightening. I use a program called "photoscape" to round crop, combine, and insert the slab insert photo. Both are free programs. Maybe sometime this week I will make a tutorial.
Thanks. It's hard to photograph through slabs, you have glare and the scratches in slabs make the photo look worse as well.
This tread right here taught me everything I know about editing coin pictures. I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever -even for a second- thought about taking pictures of any coin. It really is one of the best threads on Cointalk.
I don't understand why you would use anything other than GIMP. It's essentially open source photoshop.
A few more: Old fatty holder. Someday I'm going to cross it over to PCGS. Going for the gold: Nice Early George VII This one is from a PL set and has been toning nicely in my envelope. I got this cheap on ebay, damaged, but it needed a home. Looks like a drunk person engraved the die on the reverse. Letters are sloppy.
