Why? The point of advertising is so someone who doesn't know about your product can find out about it.

How many people in the US don't know about eBay?

Because they claimed the coin was "stolen", then later relisted it? Ya that's no reason at all to give someone a neg.

Yeah all those Idiots running Coca Cola the last 100 years sure dont know how to run a company. Have you every seen a commercial and said That looks good, I havent had one of those in awhile. We have a short attention span, if things are out of sight they are out of mind. Do you know every day, companies have new potential customers entering their targeted demographics. Should Coca Cola stopped advertising in the 1930's, and just forget about all the people who have been born in the last 80 years?

Also Mr. there are no jobs in America any more. Should they just get rid of the millions of jobs in marketing and advertising.

Most people do know it exists...as they know Coca Cola and Pepsi exist too. But, they still advertise. It is a known fact when we see something, and are actively thinking about it...we are more likely to buy it. That is the point of advertising.

Plus...if you are right and they quit advertising and save all those millions it's just more money into the CEO's pocket. Right? ;)

But again...you completely missed my point. I wasn't even talking about eBay advertising. I was talking about YOU advertising your product (item for sale) on eBay because of the large number of potential buyers that come into contact with it there verses other less trafficked sites. That the increased fees eBay charges is due to their better exposure...therefore YOU pay a higher advertising cost if you choose to use them to advertise YOUR item.

Are you talking about the profanity used in the negative you left, or could this be more of the same old "do as I say and not as I do" nonsense?

It is interesting that you see others as having "vacuous ideas" and as being "unrealized masochists" for choosing to sell on ebay instead of here, yet cannot seem to grasp the fact that most do it for the VERY SAME REASON as you.

It is sad that you, with this ridiculous air of superiority, continue to insult the overall membership as if you're somehow better than the rest of us. If you're such an "entrepreneur" and really know half of what you think you do, why bother with we fools? There are certainly better things someone of your stature and abilities could be doing than wasting your time on a coin forum full of such idiots.

First off, this thread is hilarious!

Now, this should be rather straight forward:

    Cause: Advertising

Effect: Everyone knows who you are

    Again, this is easy:

    Cause: Advertising

Effect: People growing up who are gaining knowledge of the outside world, Also know who you are

    And last, but not least:

    Cause: No advertising

Effect: people forget who you are

Oh, and another thought for Detecto:

Unless you SELL the coins to your parents PRIOR to them listing the items for sale on eBay AND they get to KEEP all the profit from their buy price from you vs. the sell price on eBay: YOU sell coins on eBay!

The only reality is that Tim sells on ebay using his parent's account.... because he can't maintain his own. But he is the seller regardless. He is surviving based on his parent's actions in allowing him what looks like full use of their account. I somehow decline to think the generosity is directed from Tim to the parents by way of him gifting them things to list so his parents can profit. Somehow I fully expect him to be in the same situation in the next 4 years as he has shown to be in the last same number.
