I can attest to the retail food industry today, for the most part customer service does not exist. Companies are more concerned with payroll than service. Now here is mistake #1...as said above no one is taking care of the customer. One would be surprised to find out whom is handeling their food! I can assure you this it isn't who you want handeling it. You wouldn't want a doctor who has not passed his boards to be doing your surgery tomorrow morning. So why would you want some under paid, under trained, person to handel your food? Turn over in this industry is off the hook....like a revolving door hired this week quit or fired next. Now without starting a panic as there are companies who do right by both their employees and customers, but one must be aware and take notice of those who do as well those who don't. Costco has a 20 % turnover one of the lowest in the industry! Why... they take care of both employee and customer. I attribute todays shopping trends due to a couple of factors....lazy people who are willing to pay for delivery service rather than deal with the shopping experence themselves. And the fact is when they do choose to experence of shopping in a market poor service from untrained personel push's them back to a key board and a don't ask don't tell mentality as to who is handeling their food. You see we became a group who rather pay a TPG to tell us what as a collector what we should already know from what our eye and knowlege of our hobby tells us. There's nothing wrong about having a coin graded....what is wrong is the lack of interest in learning . So we allow a middle man to assure us what we should already know....be it food or coins. Knowlege is a gift.....it is something we give ourselves.... it makes us better all the way around... I always ask myself this question.... Do I want someone picking out my fruit, my meats, and bread? No I don't Do I want to take interest in a hobby that my level in such a hobby is filling holes in a book, and having another tell me what is genuine and what isn't? Or do I want to use my own knowlege and judgement to feel confident in my choices in life ?
