There is a History and Archaeology board on Forvm - I should know, I moderate it!

Although I’ve never been active on the forum on Forvm, I have nothing but positive experiences with the business and site. It’s a classic.

I have great respect for the Forvm Fake Sellers list and fake coin galleries, as well as for the owner in his capacity as a dealer -- I've bought a good number of coins from him over the last few years. And I use NumisWiki on an almost daily basis. Some of the other articles hosted there are extraordinarily valuable as well, for example the articles on the Zoo Series of Gallienus and the gender of Virtus.

I was addressing only the discussion forums and the reasons I've never posted there and find them intimidating. as if I'm not smart or scholarly enough to participate. It's not what I'd consider a particularly welcoming place. I don't think it's a coincidence that it's much less active than the Ancients Forum here, and that it's rare for any single post to have more than 10 replies.
