The coin is a nice year 5 Ae Tetradrachm of Aurelian.

    from another site I get:
This one is Maximian and it's regnal year 5 (289/90 AD.) rather than 3 like the one last night. This appears to be Emmett 4108 and is considered scarce. Also Emmet omits mentioning the spelled-out Greek word ETOVC ( = "Year") for Maximian for year 5. This may be just a simple omission, but the type and year are already scarce so this may be a bit more important than the average tetradrachm of this era.

By the time that Alexandria was issuing for Diocletian and Maximian, there were dozens (perhaps as many as a hundred) different reverse types produced for each of them. That you cannot find an exact match online is not the least bit unusual or surprising.

As stated above, this is a coin or Aurelian, not Maximianus.

Another person on another site says, maybe you're reading the front wrong.

"A K M OVΛ MAΞIMIANOC CEB The similarities include both beginning "A K" AVTOKRATOR KAISAR - "M OVL" is the abbreviation of Marcus Julius. Then his name, then "CEB" Sebastos.
The Aurelian legend is like this:
A K Λ ΔOM AVPEHΛIANOC CEB Same formula, begins with A K and ends with CEB - his name is Lucius Domitius Aurelianus."

It is Aurelian. Nothing more to say. Walking away now.

@Smittys : The folks on this site are very good at identifying ancients and have seen this same coin many, many times; it's one of the most common types for Aurelian. The legend on the coin is exactly as maridvnvm stated.

My bad, I guess - apologies for any confusion I may have introduced to this discussion. I was mistaking the "CIQ" (coin in question) - which I see now is actually Aurelian - for a similar type from Maximian. I see smittys agreed with me to a point where he copied and pasted my reply from another group into this discussion - I'll take that as a compliment, even though I was wrong at the time I wrote it.

Thanks for the words of welcome - it's a little embarrassing that making a rather egregious ID mistake led me to signing up for this forum, but I never said I make no mistakes. I see at least a few folks I recognize from long association, so I can assume this will be a decently-informed forum.

No harm no foul, it was great debate, sometimes it spurs to bigger and better things.
Hope I offended anyone is this matter.
