The Chinese seem to have trouble getting 2's and 3's "RIGHT" in coin dates. Genuine 2's and 3's are graceful, sculpted things, and they are distinctive in design; Chinese 2's and 3's look like a drop of solder dribbled on the coin, carved into shape with a toothbrush. The date, of course, is just one of a hundred things to examine; it's by no means a sure thing. But I always look at the date first.
