I found a local guy selling junk silver for a reasonable price, so I bought some from him. He told me he had a few rare coins he would like to sell that weren't junk. I told him I was interested and we made a deal. I am really pleased to have added the following 1800's coins to my collection: 1833 Capped Bust Halves 1877 CC Quarter 1829 Capped Bust Dime 1889 Seated Liberty Dime The condition of these coins isn't great, but when I saw them I had to have them. The 19-- half appears to have PMD, but maybe it is a grease-filled die error. I can barely read the "33", but it is there. Any thoughts on PMD versus error?
I would say it’s certainly PMD. Looks like tooling marks at the removal areas. Nice pick ups overall.
Thanks for asking. Got her home this morning and she is currently sawing logs in my favorite easy chair. She is on the mend.
