Someone mentioned earlier, the subway ALWAYS gives Sac's as change where I am. I assume it because they can fit a whole lot of those in their change machines. More bang for your buck, (sorry had to fit that in here somewhere) If you have any kind of subway or passanger train stations you may have some luck.

    Keep us posted!

Here we have ticket machines, when buying the tickets you get the change. If your change is say $2.11, you'll get 2 Sac's and .11 cents

Northern? Maybe if by "northern" you mean "north of Florida." :)

"Better east coast stores"? You mean like Food Lyin'?

Kroger is a big, BIG concern. You might know them by other names -- Ralph's, Fry's, King Sooper. It was really disorienting to walk into a Ralph's in San Diego, and see all the store brands with the Ralph's name, but with their packaging and contents otherwise identical to the Kroger products I get in North Carolina.

But, no, our local Krogers don't give out dollar coins. They're still somewhat of a curiosity here.

I have a feeling that Augustine1992 was thinking of Subway, not a subway...?

believe it or not for circ coins i have remarkable luck with local gas stations. seems like they always have somethething from 40% kennedys, ikes, sba and so on. doesn't hurt if you see the folks working enough that they hold things back for ya
