One of Dan Carr's latest releases ...there are supposedly only 3 of the 1958 Philadelphia doubled die but none known from Denver (and definitely none with the VDB on the reverse ).
Bingo...I have one on order. https://www.dc-coin.com/1grabenercoinpressmedallionsaleprice-1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-1-1.aspx
Yep, I picked it up at the show on Friday. Dan had a bunch of product he was putting out. The mint had proposed the idea of Ike continuing on the dollar coin in 79'. This is a fantasy strike of what it may have looked like. Of course they went with Susan B Anthony instead. Overstruck on a SBA. He also had a small dollar Ike overstruck on golden dollars.
please stop posting all this fake crap and confusing anyone looking for real coins. dan carr... your original works are great... please stop making all these counterfeits....
If you thought this was a real coin then I don't know what to say. A quick search was all you needed. Why are you trying bomb my thread. What goes around comes around right? What part of "Fantasy Strikes" confuses you?
In another thread some years ago you wrote: So you did essentially state that someone should collect what they like. Bravo. But ... You just can't seem to leave it at that, when the item that they like is something that you don't like.
To be fair, I don't really see a contradiction here. I've seen movies I don't like, make negative comments about it, but don't say that people shouldn't see the movie if they disagree with my opinion or have different tastes. You can criticize a coin you don't like and still say if people do like it they can buy it. I don't see a problem with that, unless it crosses the line from just saying they don't like the coin (or coin-like thing) and actually directly going after people who do like it. In other words, going after someone's opinion: OK; going directly after the person holding that opinion: not OK. I admit I can get obsessive sometimes about things I do or don't like (wouldn't be a collector of various things otherwise lol) but I try to avoid stepping over that line. At some point though when I realize there's no point in trying to convince someone of something they're never going to be convinced of, and I have nothing further to add, I just relent and move on. Some battles aren't worth fighting past a certain point. Some people have chosen the hills they wish to die on and will never give up the fight, but I like to think I've figured out which fights aren't worth fighting, especially ones I'll never win. Some people like things I don't, some people believe things I don't, and nothing I ever say or do will change that. Some people even believe things that are provably factually wrong and refuse to budge, no matter how much evidence exists. I've resigned myself to that fact and pick my battles lol.
