Can anyone explain this 2013 Vermont Quarter to me where I can understand what it is all about?
It is black like it has been made this color. There are images and somewhat dates. This coin is very clean. ( No, I didn't clean it and I never would)
I know I shouldn't spend too much time on one coin but It keeps pulling me back..any clues to it's magic? View attachment 1055676 View attachment 1055677

Welcome to CT, Barbia. Your 2013 ATB quarter suffers from environmental damage. Probably stayed underground for sometime. It is not a Mint error.

You may have heard about a type of Mint error called "Improperly Annealed" error. The surface is darkened similar to the one you have, but the surface is different.

You can find examples from: http://www.error-ref.com/improper-annealing/

    Hope this helps.

Not an error, but boy is that dramatic looking. Only worth 25 cents, but if it were me I'd keep it just for the sake of novelty.

It's environmental damage so not a mint error. It's a spender.
