How Ignorant is that I would be ashamed to tell anyone.. You can't fix stupid but learn to tolerate it... thanks for the heads up
I think the coins in the OP look very nice and Vertigo won them for a fair price. As far as "running up bids," I don't see placing bids below or at price guides to be much of a problem, as long as said bidder is willing to buy the coin if they win.. as apparently Vertigo is willing to do. For the same reason, placing a "moon money" bid on a coin is not a problem... as long as the winner is willing to honor the agreement. The motivations of the bidder mean nothing, imo. Help the seller? If you help enough then you buy the coin, so win-win. I seriously doubt that anyone placing "altruistic" bids to help a seller makes any significant difference in the multitude of transactions on eBAy. Me, I expect to pay retail, or more, for nice coins. And I use a snipe program often. Enter my max, go to bed, no worries. My last purchase, a Trade Dollar variety, I payed about $50 over retail, once factoring in taxes and shipping. Maybe I ran up the bid some, but I bought the coin. People always seem to be looking for something to get their knickers in a knot over. If someone is perturbed because a Vertigo is depriving them of a rip on eBAy, too bad. It's a marketplace and the highest bid wins.
You can turn it, twist it, anyway you want If you don't think there is any running the bids up then go for it.. Just fall in line with the rest of them.. You can't see nothing wrong the with above comments made, then your all good.
Lol how did I neglect this thread for this long. So you're just shill bidding for fun on coins you don't really want, from sellers you don't even know... and you don't even get anything out of it? Pretty sad use of your time, imo.
I do want the coins for the price I bid. I just can't believe that I can't get these nice coins to their max price guide. I think they should all hit 200. If they don't and they are vf xf and are nice. Sure I'll buy them all. Because next year price guide might be 350 and they'll sell for 300. And think of all those I got for 160s. And in a couple weeks these will go to CAC with the others I've amassed. I have about 6 liberty seated halves already plus other coins. I also have a nice pcgs submission ready. All buying coins on low auction wins. I was being sarcastic in the post about hating winning when I'm trying to run it up. I only try to run up nice coins. Coins no one else is running up. I never really mind winning a coin. I never place a bid on a coin i don't want. Never bid more than I'm willing to pay. But I do police ebay and make sure the series i collect go for the proper prices. If they don't and I can afford to place or run it up I will. If the coin gets too high before the end I'll run it on up early. If it doesn't get ran way up I'll snipe it personally at the end. I don't use programs. This is my scratch and win right here. Better odds.
(Vertigo)I spend my days running bids up. That sounds like a sad, lonely existence. May your future be more fulfilling than your past. Did you go back and edit some of your posts?
Clearly the price guides should determine the market rather than actual collectors and bidders that buy coins. Good to know.
SHILL BIDDER : I sell you a roll Of ASE CHEAP GRAND PLUS THE RIDE That way you can get A JUMP on the Price Guide for next year.. jus trying to help out..
" If the coin gets too high before the end I'll run it on up early." Not sure I understand this. How do you know the coin is getting "too high before the end" so you can run it up.... early?
