I gave up on "perfect" a long time ago. My motto is collect coins that I find attractive which are within my ability to pay for them. My one limitation is that I almost never buy anything that I find "ugly." I would rather do without it. I have rarely used albums over the last 40 years. What "albums" I have are in my head.
For full transparency, this coin picture is posted on the PCGS website. It is not my coin. Although I can certainly dream

@Collecting Nut , maybe think about ancients. No "holes" to fill except ones you choose. What you are going through, anxiety driven by decisions others make on what coins are "needed", is what drove me from US collecting.
Thanks, it’s crazy but it sure fun plugging those holes. I do collect some ancients but I only buy what I like.
I think I bought more than one of those. One year, Roger Burdette (a spirited critic of Carr's work) was going to be presenting at the big regional show here, and I think he had a dealer's table. I thought long and hard about taking one in to show him and asking if he'd be interested in it, but I chickened out.
Gotta love that die crack on the reverse from the AT in States down through the eagle and shield. That's taking things to a whole new level. Z
If you look in all them unopened boxes you got stashed away I'll bet you'll find more missing puzzle pieces...
There’s too many of them but I get to opening them as time allows. Found lots of neat stuff today, more gold coins and plugged a few holes. I’m so close, just a coin or two, in five folders. It’s painful if you know what I mean. I did find the last Roosevelt Dime to fill that folder and every coin was in junk silver.
