You didn't dig that aureus in your new avatar, did you? If I dug something like that, you'd have to widen the hole and bury me in it, because I would have died moments after finding the coin ... with a huge grin on my face.
ha ha lordm, unfortunately is not my aureus..l find 5 ducats from medieval times, but not roman aureus..not yet..
unfortunately, l have no photos..4 of them are from venezia, and one from germany..that one from germany was a rare ducat..nex time l will make photo..l promise..

Yes. Single coins do not have to be reported unless they were found in the same place as another find, but two or more must be reported. But although there is no legal responsibility, they would like all finds to be reported as all finds constitute archaeological evidence. Reporting does not affect your ownership, and establishes provenance.
