Hi everyone! I live in Hungary, as my name shows, so if you have any questions about Hungarian coins, I'd be glad to help you! Of course I have many hungarian coins, and also banknotes, so,if you let me, I'm not gonna load them up one by one to this side.
I also like the 1936 2 Pengo coin. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of the death of Franz von Liszt. The image that is used for Columbus on the USA commemorative 50-cent coin looks like this portrait of Mr Franz von Liszt.
Well, we know from photographies what Franz Liszt (the "von" was and is not really used) or Liszt Ferenc/z looked like. Interesting hair style. What is also worth mentioning, I think, is the mint marks. "BP" is Budapest as you might have guessed - and "KB" is short for Körmöcbánya. That town was in the Hungarian part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Today the place is Kremnica, Slovakia ... and still has a mint. Christian
2 pengo 1935, silver .640, weight - 10 g., size - 27 mm, thickness - 2,1 mm, mintage - 50000 pcs. "300th Anniversary of the Founding of Pazmany University". The single release only. I like the design very much. I looked for this coin some years. And at last I found.
