Run Forest, Run... ANACS/Amos - late in the SWH run... So market grading for the time. MS65, maybe MS66 in today's standards.
It's very likely the coin is a 65, not a 66. Just based on the luster graze I see on the obverse field in front of her nose, and the marks in the reverse right field and above the eagle's head, there is no way this would get into a 66 slab from NGC or PCGS. Generic 66's have traded on Heritage for $250 - $300 (though I did find a couple particularly unattractive ones at $225). Generic 65's have traded in the $100 to $140 range, although a couple of nice ones went for $160. If it does cross as 66 (factoring in grading fees), you paid market price for a 66. However, if its actually a 65 as I suspect, you didn't do so hot.
So, they're bad pics. Even if they were 'excellent' pics I'd still want to see it in hand. Just my preference; that's all.
I'd really like to ask people who post images like that, "Would you buy a coin from pictures like those?" Yet they expect intelligent responses.
It seems you paid a fair retail price for a high end 65 (or low-end 66?) coin. I like the small white holders, too, and hope they won’t disappear completely in a few years from now. But the only thing that really matters is that you’re happy with the coin.
It's in the ANACS system, but there's no pictures. Which seems like the usual with low quality pics. Avoid like the plague.
