Looks F details at least to me, but the ding would probably prevent it from grading. I'd still consider it at the right price, though.
My impression is that of F details; it looks a little nicer than VG to my eyes, but is a problem coin worth problem money.
I would have pounced at that price. Rim bumps don't bother me so much on halves anyhow (since the coins are so prone to them), and that's a heck of a discount from problem-free prices.
Off the top of my head, this is somewhere around GOOD money, correct? While one could argue that the bump may not be as bad as other problems, it is still enough to make this a problem coin. You're right in that $20 was not that bad, and there is no doubt in my mind that you could make a fair and reasonable profit at that price, but, and with all due respect, it is worth nowhere even close to what you're asking.
No, I happened to stumble upon it and, to say the least, was very surprised; especially considering the OP's initial grade opinion along with the understanding that it is a problem coin. Being as the thread is about the coin's grade and condition, which clearly plays into its value, I felt it a reasonable inclusion.
I am sorry if you disagree, but considering value was discussed, I did not feel my statement an improper addition; details were not disclosed nor linked.
