Normal cent that has been counter stamped. Lincoln cents are a very popular host for counter stamps.

James, most likely everything you have is very common. (Rare coins are just that RARE.) I recommend you start your own thread for each piece you have a question about and include good clear images. Then we can give you accurate opinions as to what you have.

Hi, I've been reading some and I'll go ahead and mention (because of the really rude and unhelpful person in here...) That I have no experience in collecting or knowing jack about collecting, nor do I claim to. I found this in my dad's Bible who passed away 6 years ago. I only want to know if possible what this penny is worth if nothing more than face value. I wasn't sure when I saw the "robbery or spent what they shouldn't" post because like those people, I've been a child once and spent some silver dimes on candy that were left laying so u can understand how that could happen.
