How to fake a glossy patina?

    Exactly correct! This is one of the reasons I greatly prefer using deionized water over distilled water. Plus, distilled water can contain low levels of bacteria. With a proper deionizer setup utilizing UV-treatment and 0.22µ filtering, you can get close to bacteria-free water.

    I was wondering why the strongest ethanol I have ever been able to find is Polish neutral spirits @ 96% (192 proof). This makes sense now. Thanks. =)

    Distilled water is distilled water. Purified water etc. don't cut it. If you want distilled water (no residue) you have to buy distilled water.
