What are you talking about? Re-read my post. Maybe the humor got lost on your first try
Not your fault, I've always been bad with jokes.

I'm the last person to give a darn about the Confederates. While that was going on my ancestors from both sides of my family were still in Spain, many years away from setting sail to Cuba.

No problem. Your post gave me a laugh. My post was supposed to do the same. Peace!

Nothing wrong with being a proud Southerner. I've lived most of my life in the South. I know, Miami is not really the south, but I did live in Jacksonville, Florida for a long time, and that's only a stone throw away from Georgia.

I consider myself a proud adopted Southerner. I don't want those northern Carpetbaggers coming down here to lay their grubby little northern hands on my ancient coins. :p

Just kidding fellas. I love the Northerners, but that doesn't change the fact that people in the south are much cooler and friendlier. :D

Many in my family fought and died for the Stars and Bars.

Just to make this about coins, here is a coin with the stars anyway:

Wow. This went south really fast! And east, west, etc. A simple question, completely unanswered (sort of, I see I can use the 'report' button). Jeez. What the heck? One would think this was about the current presidential election! Anyone have an answer to the specific question?

Spent most of my adult life in the South, grew up summers in the South. Raised in the Midwest, but have lived in every Region of this Country, and have been expatriated overseas also. My druthers is the South... the weather is why. :) And the Folks and food are great!
And @Sallent , Florida was never the South... it was always a dangling appendage off of North America... :D :D :D (My wife was born in Jacksonville...)

    TIF Always learning.

Mat answered it early on page 1:

I don't see a "send a Private Message" link when clicking their avatars from that page, but you can always go to your Inbox, select "Start a New Conversation" at the bottom left of the drop-down, and type one of the moderators' names (from the list of moderators in the link Mat provided).

ValiantKnight added that there isn't a specific moderator for each forum.

JWT added a workable suggestion, one I've used several times:

    ...as did Doug:

I'm from the West, of Europe that is, but what I'm sure of, is that I admire that second coin of Alegandron's. What is it?

If you want a Mod's attention just start reporting everybody's posts in the thread. :D

No but seriously, go into Desertgem's profile page. Under information there is "start a conversation" use that

Well, thanks to those who actually had something to say to the question.

I found that there really is no way to know who is a moderator unless you happen to see one of their posts or their profile (among the countless thousands). No way to know who moves a topic unless they specifically post that they have done so. I guess the only real option is to use the 'report' link, which does seem (to me) not the right way to go about it (I dont want to report anyone, just want a thread to have stayed in the category it was started in).

Anyway, I have lost interest. The vast majority of the posts in this thread have nothing to do with the topic. Good job people!

Threads have a tendency to take on a life of their own. While I don't believe anyone here intentionally hijacked the thread, I will apologize for my part. However, I do believe this will happen again, and often. It's the nature of CT. At least the Ancients Forum.
