How to clean silver coins?

    What should I use to clean silver coins, such as the ones attached? Distilled water and let them dry? Is it scratch-safe to rub them with any sort of cloth?

    I assume the green is verd gris from the copper content. I do not know what the brown deposits on the Mexican coin are.

    Looks like it might be "Green Slime" from PVC holders. Many times the residue will feel tacky. Soak/swab with Acetone. There are a number of threads on Coin Talk with info on how to do this> Assuming it's green slime, you need to remove it. The residue is acidic and will damage your coins
