When I was 13 I was delivering newspapers every day. My customers paid in cash and much of what I got was Barber Quarters and Halves, Franklin Halves, tons of Mercury Dimes, Buffalo Nickels and quite a few Indian Head Cents. Spent every one of them as I wasn't a collector at the time. Bought a lot of comic books and milkshakes. If I had only known then what I know now. Or at least if my mother had not thrown out the comic books I might have been able to recoup some of the value. *sigh*
my best suggestion since youre so young is to buy books about the series youre into. i dont want to make it sound like counterfiets have taken over ebay but youre much better off going to a dealer you know if youre looking for coins not in the xhundred dollar range. learning about grading for yourself in and outside the slab, how to tell authentics from altered or counterfiet coins no matter what series will pay off in the future alot more then the coins themselves.
Thanks...AS soon as I get money I will buy a book on buffalo ncikels and some cotton gloves and a cherrypickers guide..and some coin tongs...If any of you guys have any cotton gloves or any spare books...I will be estatic to recive some...
