<p>[QUOTE=&quot;Troodon, post: 92378, member: 4626&quot;]Not married, but can tell you the enthusiasm my relatives have...</p><p><br /></p><p>My brother, who is more like me than any other blood relative I have, nearly shares my enthusiasm.&nbsp; He wouldn&#039;t call himself a &quot;collector,&quot; as he doesn&#039;t systematically acquire and organize coins, but he does have a good deal of interest in them, and keeps whatever he finds that sparks his interest.&nbsp; My collecting started at that point, so who knows?</p><p><br /></p><p>My father and grandfather have about the same interest I do... my grandfather doesn&#039;t so much as collect, as he hoards coin, out of an impulse to save almost anything that looks interesting.&nbsp; He has a whole roll of almost every state quarter and saves ALL his change, including a large number of Canadian coins (he&#039;s lived near the Canadian border several times in his life).&nbsp; He doesn&#039;t have much of what you&#039;d call a collection, but enjoys looking at various coins and saves anything he finds somewhat interesting.&nbsp; He has entire rolls of Bicentennial quarters, something he enjoys saving whenever he sees them.</p><p><br /></p><p>My father has almost as much interest in coins as my grandfather, and saves any foreign coins he gets on his travels (he&#039;s in the Marines, and also had a civilain job that required him to travel a lot, so has had opportunity to gather many).&nbsp; He also has several coins he saved back when silver was being taken out of coins, a lot of silver Kennedy and Franklin halves, a few Walkers, Roosevelt and Mercury dimes, Washington quarters and one Standing Liberty, a few old pennies and nickels, and some modern commemoratives.</p><p><br /></p><p>My mother may say &quot;neat&quot; when she sees an interesting coin, but tends to roll her eyes and fake interest when I try to discuss coins in as muchh detail as interests me, lol.[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
